
Pat Marconett worked his way up from learning how to draw at San Jose State University to interning at PDI/DreamWorks and Nickelodeon, working in the mobile gaming industry and working on shows like Mr. Pickles, Friends Night, VeggieTales, and Sofia The First. In part I of our interview he talks about his journey from being a videographer in high school to deciding to major in animation, how he landed his internships and how he started working for Adult Swim on Mr. Pickles. In part 2 Eric dives deep into his career as a professional animator and what it’s like working as a freelancer. He discusses what it was like to venture into the realm of mobile games while working for Playdom, which was later acquired and rebranded as Disney Interactive, working with animation legend Eric Goldberg at Duck studios, and working as a freelance artist for DreamWorks.
